Happy Halloween! Introducing "CASTLE CHIROPTERA" - electronic music fit for a haunted castle stage in a video game!

Halloween is one of my favourite holidays, and "Castle Chiroptera" is here for it! Starting in late 2017 but finished recently, I knew that Castle Chiroptera would turn into a haunted-castle-type track.

It was inspired by the dramatic music of final levels and the feeling of dread accompanying them, which Castle Chiroptera's intense and emotive analog arp buildups aim to capture.

Inspirations also include the Castlevania and Paper Mario games, as well as artists like Eric Prydz and deadmau5.

Finally finished mastering on September 30th, 2021, Castle Chiroptera emphasises a long intro and bridge, to focus on the dramatic buildup and that "final boss level" vibe. I believe the organ buildup from 4:30 minutes in was a great last-minute touch!

The character in the cover art is Count Chiroptera - the owner of the haunted castle estate! Be careful - he may have rabies!

Fun facts about Castle Chiroptera:

- During development, it was originally called "Twenty Eights", because it was once 10:28 minutes long (but very repetitive), and the BPM increases or decreases in intervals of 28 BPM. It was also going to be named after a parrot native to where I live, whose call sounds like "Twenty Eight!"

- I had so much trouble deciding what to name this before distribution. I was going to call it "Pixelvania" and have pixel art of a dark castle as its cover art but gave up on it. It was also going to be called "Synthvania", since late in development it was originally going to be synthwave, but I couldn't execute the idea well. So, I went with "Castle Chiroptera" as a last-minute title, with "Chiroptera" being the scientific name for the bats, and created Count Chiroptera as a typical vampire bat character.

- It's my 39th finished track and 58th release.

- This track has a quokka (a West Aussie marsupial) hidden in it, but this time it's even more difficult to find! Can you see it? (Hint: you'll need to brighten the image!)
