2022 OVERTURN is EXTRATONE - an extreme genre of electro music where tracks are at least 1000 BPM. In the 202X Series, each tracks' BPMs reflect how crazy each half of a year in the 2020s is. Because of war, inflation, and an increasingly destabilising world climate, 2022 OVERTURN sits at 1800 BPM, making it my second fastest 202X track yet, second only to 2020 OVERKILL at 2020 BPM.

This track is unapologetically angry, erratic, and chaotic. I've been making a lot of dark and angry-sounding music lately and wish to continue doing so - it's a fun contrast to my usual upbeat stuff.

I think the second half of 2021 is less extreme than the first half was, which is why "2021 OVERRUN" was 1500 BPM and this one is a little slower.

It was an absolute mishmash to make and very outside of my usual track structure. I made an accident exporting a preview of this for a preview video, so I decided to use the chopped up, reversed piano samples from it that I accidentally exported with it and it actually sounds much more better than I thought it would!

2022 OVERTURN's cover art follows the 202X aesthetic in other tracks in the series and depicts 2022's events so far. It is khaki symbolising war.

Other facts about 2022 OVERTURN:

- This track is my scariest-sounding yet, so much so that creating this actually lead to feelings of dread and my heart rate going up!
- Its original title was 2022 OVERVIEW, but that implies an overview of the entirety of 2022, not the first half like this one is.
- Despite production starting on February 25, 2022, It was mostly worked on and finished on May 21, 2022.
- It's my 156th track and 68th release.
