SQUIRREL OVERBOARD - After falling off the Organic Streams cruise ship, Oskar the cyborg prankster squirrel safely swam back to shore! To celebrate, I'm releasing this experimental electronic track with distorted fanfare-like synths soundtracking Oskar's stalwart swim.

Squirrel Overboard actually was a track I made a while ago, starting on September 25, 2018 but remastered for release recently (it had a horrific low-end frequency EQ'd out!).

It originally started out under its original, very-easy-to-remember title, "Fanfare'FkXIUxgKAIlAXBLdXaua,_EHxFrX_Beh_esXI0_H", titled so because it has a fanfare-like synth sound bugling throughout the track but corrupted by glitch effects. In actuality, it was a three-tone synth pad distorted using GarageBand's "Vocal Transformer" plugin.

I am dedicating this track to Oskar, the prankster squirrel who is one of the many characters in MOULE WORLD. He was really popular for his pranks, but unfortunately one of them backfired! He was electrocuted and lost his left eye, where he now has a bionic one. While getting it implanted, he considered also installing an antenna on his head, which he went through with two weeks later.

This track "Squirrel Overboard", though created in 2018, now soundtracks his subsequent months-long swim across the ocean, with the glitchy fanfare symbolising the cyborg squirrel's stalwart swim efforts, even as his antenna was rotting away and eventually ripped off by a shark, and his bionic eye rusted away and deactivated after seawater exposure.

Ever since he got his antenna installed, his pranks became much more cruel and sadistic, culminating in a fierce music battle between him and I in November 2022 when he tried scamming me with his ridiculous "promo packages" on Twitter (now X). In retaliation, I released "I Need New Music" (moule.bandcamp.com/track/i-need-new-music) and he released "MOOL DIS TRACK" since his Twitter account (@awwskurr) got suspended. He claimed his diss track got over 999 billion spotify streams!

You can hear his ridiculous "diss track" here: media.moule.world/moule/media_attachments/files/110/916/663/597/565/152/original/6e1111a8e36e961e.mp3

Oskar would then announce he would go on a trip to the Fammus Islands, a top-secret small island within a much larger island in the middle of the South Pacific Ocean, its existence denied by cartographers everywhere. He boards a cruise ship known as the "Organic Streams", or "the Organic", for short, on a cruise around the Pacific Ocean. During this trip, a tsunami hit the Fammus Islands (also responsible for hosting 2Square's servers, a social media site of MOULE WORLD, which were all destroyed) and Oskar's @awwskurr account suddenly went silent, and he wasn't heard from for over 9 months.

Until now!

He logged on to mastodon.moule.world, one of the social media platforms made in the wake of 2Square's demise, and made the announcement that the tsunami rocked the Organic and threw him overboard without anyone noticing, and due to the speed of the ship and a strong eastward ocean current in the South Pacific Ocean, Oskar was lost.

You can read and hear Oskar's oceanic odyssey straight from the squirrel's glitchy mouth right here: mastodon.moule.world/@oskar/110916395767861977

As for the cover art, it was designed using an iOS app called "Assembly". Fun fact: the word "Squirrel" in the word art for "Squirrel Overboard" actually looks like a squirrel if you look closely!

Another fun fact: Oskar's shirt, yellow divided diagonally from top-left-to-bottom-right by red, is the maritime flag for "O", or "Oscar" in the NATO Phonetic Alphabet. Also, you raise an "Oscar" flag to symbolise "Man Overboard". The yellow-red colour scheme extends to the word art also!
