Tom, also known by his nickname "California Grizzly", likes the beach, sunsets, and skateboarding, and this is his theme track! He is also a reference to Monarch, an actual California grizzly bear (now an extinct species) who stars on California's flag.

When I first started producing California Grizzly on November 20, 2020, I did what I do all the time - mess around on my keyboard until I make something I like. Like Google Images, typing in the melody brings up images in my head. This time, it was a bear skateboarding at the beach during a sunset. I called it "Halfpipe Hero" initially, because I thought it sounded like the great theme for a skateboarding game. I then called it "California Grizzly" because it sounded cooler. It was then finished on January 22, 2021.

The cover art was one of the funnest to make! It is one of my personal favourites. While most people recognise me as a musician, I am also a cartoonist, and the artwork I make is the cover art for my music. I'm considering making webcomics soon.

"California Grizzly" is my 136th finished track and 50th release!
